School Closure and OpenCheck

Arrangements in case of severe weather

Arrangements remain the same as for previous years, should it be necessary to close school due to bad weather, etc. In the unlikely event that it is necessary to close school, please see below.

The school will message all parents/carers using the Teacher 2 Parents facility. Every effort will be made to provide as much prior notice as is possible and decisions on closure are taken very seriously, involving Health & Safety assessments of the school site, travel accessibility, staffing levels and forecasts related to potential worsening weather.

Alternativley, you may wish to use the link to the Opencheck site, where you will be notified of the status of the school.

COVID 19

During recent national lockdown periods, Upton has made every effort to remain open to children of critical workers or vulnerable pupils attending school. We know that our key worker families rely on us during these very challenging times. The school will work directly with parents & carers to assess each individual circumstance in the event of any potential closure.
