History
At Upton, we aim for our students to build a coherent knowledge and narrative of Britain’s past and that of the wider world in order to support them in making sense of the world we live in today.
From the National Curriculum we have identified the following key concepts that we wish to develop through sequenced content, skills and knowledge:
- Innovation
- Governance
- Equality
- Society
We aim to inspire children to question, think critically and make their own judgments; we have threaded the Oxfam Global Citizenship curriculum through this to enable children to relate historical examples to contemporary events.
