Children attending Upton School are expected to wear the school’s uniform. A Uniform gives identity to a school and ensures that the children look smart and neat. It also makes school different from home in the child’s mind. All children must wear the school’s uniform to help reinforce the school’s ethos. All our pupils are expected to wear jumpers/cardigans with the school logo. Please ensure that all uniform is named.

A warm winter coat in a dark colour or navy is essential for all children. The children have a morning, afternoon (KS1) and a lunch break. Unless it is raining hard, all of these breaks take place in the playground. In cold weather, children should have gloves and a hat. Please note that football scarves and hats are not permitted in school.

In the summer the children should have a lightweight sunhat (white or blue) to wear when it is hot. No jewellery can be worn in school apart from a sensible watch and flat stud earrings. Children MUST remove these for P.E.

We also discourage extravagant hairstyles e.g. ‘shaved patterns in hair’, brightly coloured hair bands and hair adornments.
