Homework

At Upton, we value highly the place of home learning in every child's education. We believe that homework is at it's most effective when it is enjoyable, engaging, related to the 'live' learning in school and is supported by adults in the home.

All homework is set on a four weekly cycle where children have three weeks to complete the 'menu' of choices from the tasks offered in addition to their weekly reading, spelling and maths learning. In the fourth week, our teachers will acknowledge their work, plan and prepare the next menu and celebrate the children's effort and success throughout the school.

Homework Due Date: Every 4 weeks
Minimum points to be collected: 10
Maximum points to be collected: 27

The children choose a combination of the tasks set to try and collect lots of homework points. If they choose to do all of them they can earn the maximum amount of 27 homework points! Children can choose any combination – all we ask is that they collect a minimum of 10 points. Effort and commitment to homework is then converted to Achievement Points that contribute towards their prestigious Achievement awards.

' We love the new homework menu's as we get more time to do them and we can choose how much and what to do'.
