Wraparound Care Provision

The aim of the school’s Wraparound Care Provision (WCP) is to provide a calm and fun -place to be in prior to starting the school day and at the end of the school day. The vision was to create a home-from-home feel so that children didn’t feel that they are actually in school. We are very proud of this provision and what we offer and our children like it too!

Should you wish to book a place in either the Breakfast or After School Club please contact Mrs Caroline Douglas, Business Manager, at cdouglas@upton.bexley.sch.uk. Please note that we currently have spaces for all days in Breakfast Club but we do have a waiting list for After School Club.

Should you be allocated a place within this provision you will be provided with details of our online system that enables you to book your required slots (as previously agreed with Mrs Douglas) and also pay for the sessions. Please note that you can only book slots as already agreed and should you require an additional space one week you must email Mrs Douglas to notify her of this, so you can be informed as to whether there are spaces on the required day.

Should you acquire a place within the WCP and would like to see the space your child/ren will be in prior to them starting, please do not hesitate to make this request to Mrs Douglas who will be happy to arrange this.

An application form will be given to you to complete and we need you to require all information requested within this form. There is also an expectations letter with the form that sets out our behaviour expectations for the children. When you have submitted an application form, we will assume that you have read these expectations and made them clear to your children.

Should you book a session and your child is subsequently ill please note that you will not be refunded for the first day of illness as we will have staffed the provision to the numbers expected. You will not be charged for subsequent days and if you have already booked and paid for these, we can carry the payment over for future sessions. Should you decide that you no longer wish your child to attend the provision you must put this in writing to Mrs Douglas; an email is fine. Your child will be removed from the register and if you require the provision again moving forwards you will join the waiting list if the sessions you request are full.

Any disclosures made during a child attending the provision will be dealt with in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures.

As a member of the school’s Leadership Team, Mrs Douglas is aware of information for all children within the school and this provides a timely and measured response to anything that may impact in the WCP.

Children attending the WCP are treated with respect whilst ensuring that fun and safety is our top priority; we want the children to enjoy this time in the WCP.
